Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Guatemala (Airport code GUA) & Transfer to Antigua Touch down at La Aurora International Airport in Guatemala City (GUA), where our team will greet you and transfer you to the enchanting colonial city of Antigua Guatemala. Settle into your charming hotel and soak in the views of surrounding volcanoes.
Day 2: Antigua Cultural Walking Tour & Highland Heritage Step back in time on a guided morning walking tour of Antigua. Explore UNESCO World Heritage landmarks, including the vibrant Iglesia de la Merced, the serene Capuchinas Convent, historic San Francisco el Grande Church, local markets, and the Choco Museum. Spend the afternoon strolling picturesque streets or sampling local coffee at your own pace.
Day 3: Journey to Copán Ruinas (Honduras) Travel across the border into Honduras to explore the famed Copán Archaeological Site. Guided by expert historians, discover grand ceremonial plazas, intricate stone stelae, the famous Hieroglyphic Stairway, and the hidden Rosalila Temple preserved beneath the acropolis.
Day 4: Quiriguá Archaeological Wonders & Lake Izabal Head toward Lake Izabal, Guatemala’s largest lake, stopping en route at the ancient Maya city of Quiriguá. Marvel at giant carved stelae—some of the largest sculpted monuments in the Maya world—before continuing to your peaceful waterfront retreat along the Río Dulce.
Day 5: Río Dulce Canyon Boat Cruise to Livingston & Flores Board a private boat for a scenic river cruise down the Río Dulce. Pass the historic Spanish fortress of Castillo de San Felipe, navigate lush jungle canyons, spot native wildlife at Bird Island, and visit the unique Garifuna culture hub of Livingston. Afterward, journey north into the tropical Petén region near Tikal National Park.
Day 6: Tikal Sunrise Experience & Ancient Pyramids Rise early for a breathtaking 4:00 AM hike to the top of Temple IV to watch the sunrise over the jungle canopy as the rainforest awakens. Explore the soaring pyramids, plaza complex, and wildlife-rich trails of Tikal National Park with your expert guide before transferring to the island town of Flores for the evening.
Day 7: Xunantunich Ruins & Crossing to Caye Caulker, Belize Cross the border into Belize and head straight to Xunantunich Archaeological Site, perched high on a natural limestone ridge overlooking the Mopan River. Ascend “El Castillo” for panoramic views before continuing to the Belize City ferry terminal to catch a scenic water taxi to the laid-back island of Caye Caulker.
Day 8: Hol Chan Marine Reserve & Shark Ray Alley Snorkeling Set sail into the Caribbean Sea for an epic ocean adventure in the Hol Chan Marine Reserve. Snorkel vibrant coral reefs teeming with colorful marine life, then glide into shallow waters at Shark Ray Alley to swim alongside friendly nurse sharks and stingrays. Enjoy a relaxed final evening soaking up Caye Caulker’s “Go Slow” vibe.
Day 9: Return to Belize City & Departure Take a morning water taxi back to Belize City for your seamless private transfer to Belize International Airport to catch your flight home.
